Seminar with Kati Saurula: Children Exhibiting Behaviour of Concern.
Children with problematic behaviour have simultaneous overlapping needs for service on health care, social services and educational support. Finnish wellbeing counties are obliged to integrate their health care and social services with each other as service packages according client’s needs. Moreover, services must be integrated with municipal services such as education. Service packages should meet several needs: child’s need for health examination, care and social support, but also parent’s needs for supporting parental well-being and parenting capacities.
Research will illustrate and systematize Finnish service system and service integration between health care, social services and primary education within this client group. It will also present some preliminary results of ongoing empirical analysis concerning the integration challenges health care professionals, social welfare professional and teachers are encountering.
